Bakerbm Engine To Intermediate Pipe Hose

Recommended Posts

chipstick

Test fitted my hoses today to make sure everything was hunky dory.

The outlet at the rear of the block, which joins with a hose to the 205 intermediate pipe has an englarged end.

It looks like with a lot of persuasion it could be forced over the end of the outlet, and on to the housing itself. The reason I question is, because the other end of the pipe fits nicely so wondering if I had the right pipe.

I have checked the other pipe of the same angle to see if the rad had a larger bore, it doesn't.

Before I stretch the hose over the ribbed outlet and onto the housing itself, (which I can't see any benefit from) I thought I would see what others did.

I remember searching a while ago for another problem and coming across a pic with someone having the same problem, but didn't read it as I didn't think I would have the same issue and can't find it for the life of me

Edit

I had the same issue as in the other post. I guess you've been sent the pipes the wrong way round though, Stew supplying a Xsara kit and you have a 306 engine.

Call Stew and he'll supply the correct pipe FOC.

Other thread is here,

I had the same issue with getting my bbm hose onto the water distribution block.

Went to the chemist and got a tube of KY Jelly to lube up the hose. Worked a treat and fitted fine.

Remember to check and tighten ALL the hose clips after a shake down.

There are 2 types of lower hose, The Alloy and Plastic water Dist unions have a different dia, and the GTi6 one uses the smaller one of the 2 as well

Rang Stew.

I was obviously sent a Xsara hose by mistake. It's being exchanged :)

Xsara one's are the same as GTi6 ones, smaller of the 2

Well, I had the incorrect one for my engine and it's being replaced

I think Stew is looking into changing it from the option of GTi6/xsara kit to whether the customer has plastic or metal which makes more sense.
