Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

Fitted the majority of my gasket kit but coming round to the exhaust and they're different to the ones i took off. They're two metal outer layers with gasket type material in between. Are these ok to use? Do I need to use any type of sealant?

i've seen a few different types, as long as the set is matching it'll be fine, the thickness does vary bwteeen types.

 

no need for sealant but do make sure the surfaces are clean.

Cheers mate, I guess to my mind it always seems like metal on metal doesn't make a good seal, mind you the last fiber type ones I used didn't make a good seal so that shoes you how much I know!!

Those are the best, most other pattern ones are rubbish, Worth checking the manifold edge's as these quite often rust away

I've had the face of the manifold skimmed as it was quite corroded, the head was also done recently, do the raised centres form the seal then? Glad I've got good ones!
