Previous Owner Made A Mess-Dkz 1.9

Recommended Posts

omri617

Hello friends

The car was originally 1.6 B6E (year 1992) . the previous owner swapped it to 1.9 (DKZ)

The ECU running now is 340 (1.6)

The AFM running now is 056

The Distributor now is 0023D018

2525640B F7

The car is NON - Cathalysed ( I believe it was removed or when it was 1.6 with B6E it didn't have?)

The owner made a lot of mess with the car and i feel it doesn't run as it should .

the car over-fules (10KM/1L on highway)

what do you think of this mess he made?

appreciate any opinion

The afm is also a 1.6 afaik. Get the proper ecu and afm on for starters.

AFM ending with 109 (1.9L) i already got but haven't installed yet

ECU is a whole another issue : Got the 0261200160 Motronic . i noticed that it has 55 pins . my 340 ECU has only 25 - this means i can't really connect it?

what i assume is when the B6E engine was removed and the DKZ was installed , the wiring loom wasn't replaced?is it even possible?

thanks

DKZ engine runs on Motronic 1.3 engine management , and so you'll need a different wiring loom ... needs :

160 or 161 ECU

202 AFM

lambda sensor

dual fuel pump relay system

evap canister (sloenoid) or can replece it with an resistor on the solenoid connector

and non mechanical dizzy (empty one without mechanical advance - springs , bob weights , pick up coil etc.)

... Motronic 1.3 management controls ignition and fueling via ECU , and it's really nice to drive ... much better than Jetronic equipped car .. so id advise to run it on Motronic if you can source the 3-row loom and needed components

First of all thanks Damir

I got the 160 ECU

I got the 109 AFM - is there a real difference between the 109 and the 202?

I got the DIZZY 0023d018

2525640b f7 (which i don't know if it's 1.6 or 1.9??!)

My knowledge in mechanics is not quite big but i'm willing to learn

can you please give me the part numbers that i need or links to them?? cause i don't know which lambda , dual fuel pump relay, evap canister (sloenoid)

and non mechanical dizzy (empty one without mechanical advance - springs , bob weights , pick up coil etc.)

I really thank you all

Ok. now , for making it back to Motronic 1.3 , first thing you'll need an complete engine wiring loom with 3-row connector for the Motronic ECU .. furtehr on , on the same loom there will be connectors fo : lambda sensor , injection and fuel pump relays , ignition module , ignition coil , injectors , evap canister solenoid valve , TP sensor , CAS sensor , ECU tem. sensor , AFM , SAD (choke) ... and you'll have to have all the components , fitted/connected , to make it work as Motronic 1.3 .

109 AFM is for 1.9 Jetronic car , and yes .. the 202 Motronic AFM is different .

dizzy - you need a non mechanical one (unbolt the dizzy cap and you'll see just the shaft and a rotor arm inside the dizzy housing .. and it feels much lighter compared to the mechanical dizzy ..)

CAS sensor (it bolts on top of the gearbox and it's the main engine movement triggering sensor for the ECU)

1.9 Motronic toothed flywheel

So i started in search of the wiring loom first of all

wanted to draw your attention to some point :

the car was catalysed originally . (B6E) and the owner removed the catalyser when fitted the (DKZ) - the ECU has some sensor connected to the catalyser?

i mean , if yes , which one and where they could have put it in my car when they removed the cataylser?

can DKZ engine run without catalyser?

thanks
