Low Speed Fan Sensor Differences

Recommended Posts

allye

Hello all,

Just wondering what the differences are between the 2 low speed fan sensors I have, I have one which the brown plug plugs straight into and one that has small amount of wire coming out of it then plugs into the brown plug, also one says L3 and one C1!?

I have TD twin fan setup in which only the high speed works at the moment as I forgot to plug in the low speed sensor , need to get the low speed working as GTI6 205's don't like traffic! <_<

Thanks, Ali

do you mean the resistor? no lead = fan low speed, with lead = dim dip resistor.

Do they both look the same as in small metal cyclinder!?

TD twin fan setup doesn't use a resistor, it's got 3 relays fitted instead.

Well I have all three relays fitted, the lights, horn etc loom is from a gti so still has the plug for it! Maybe the relays just need a good clean.

The plug is for the dim/dip resistor not the fan one.

fan loom is totally separate to the lights.

if you have the td loom and all 3 relays fitted and it is not working i'd get some new relays.

Could it be due to a faulty fan switch?

could be indeed, though a little rarer on this arrangement as the main power doesnt go through it like they do on the single fan arrangement.

Indeed, gti light loom, TD fan loom. I'll replace some relays then!

Cheers :)
