Carb Set Up Trouble ;(

Recommended Posts

hiya i hav ongoin project with my 205 gti 1.9, for ages now i wanted it on carbs, but due to working away alot, dont have the time to put into it. Me and friend have done the wiring from a donor car and done it how it seems to me exact to me, but when connect to the battery , there seems to be aloud buzzing sound coming from the fuse board(seem to think a relay) and have changed the relay what was shaking as i touched.

Has anyone else tried to do the loom?

and

does anyone know off any good car sparkys around the walsall are thanks??

To be honest there's not really much of a loom for a carb'd 1.9. Obviously there are the sensors/starter/alternator which don't need touching then there is the coil. Are you running the cylinder type coil ? If so there is a wiring diagram on the forum somewhere. The only other wiring is the fuel pump which you'll have the wire for which you can use off the tacho relay.

Are you running a facet pump ?

What have you made a loom for exactly ?

yeh got the cylinder coil, and no not got that fuel pump, only original pump.

Wthat it was i brought another 205 off ebay as had many parts i wanted, but body work was knackerd, so all was setup on carbs and did run as i turned over my self, so thought it would be easy enough to copie everything over, but hasnt worked.

ive just noticed your in burtwood/staffs area, i work that area my self, i mean if you wouldnt mind when ever your free, if you could pop and have a look, just so wanting the car on the road, and wanted to build my self(meaning not to take to garage) and ill sort you out for all the help would be so appreciated :)
