mles?

has he done a supercharged one?

will drop him a pm now

standard?

no, it's running a a low boost supercharger

My current exhaust was measuered at 106 Db at 4000 and 107 at 5000 and to the ear at 5500 and above it starts to get very loud

Get in touch with Endaf at Owens Fabrication, he is in West Wales, he will be able to make you something suitable.

What system are you running now mate? I have a low boost Lynx charger to go on mine but I'm worried about noise. Currently I have a full Magnex system (2" I think) which may strangle power and need changing to 2.5 or 2.75"? The current system reads around 99db at 5,000 rpm.

mines a magnex 2",

yours seems quieter than mine, how did you measure it?

or maybe your baffles are better than mine

edit, ah i misread, mine was 90-95 (depending on circuit) with ITB's

so yours is louder than mine was before charger, so i guess you are going to struggle too

2.5" is what is needed

Just about to reply and saw your edit mate. Uncharged it made about 97db at 4,500 revs so I'm nervous about the noise increase when the charger goes on. I'm also wondering if the current 2" exhaust will strangle power but I guess not looking at your power figures? Why do you think that a 2.5" system will quieten it down?

I didn't say a 2.5" will make it quieter :P

I need a 2.5" as the 2" is sapping a little power :)

That makes sense. I thought yours was running about 260hp now? How much power do you reckon you are losing and what ECU are you using?

With a 2" it's estimated to be running 230'ish, it feels quite an increase over the itb's but I'm going off the results of some of the gti6 boys results

STD gti6 ecu

Let me know if you get sorted with an exhaust then mate. I'm going to have before and after dyno runs done to see what difference is made. As it is now it only made 144hp on Dyno Dynamics so it'll be interesting to what increase I get with the charger and what increase in noise.
