Clutch Fork Arm Bushes!

Recommended Posts

cheesegrater

Hi all just a quick question. When swapping over the clutch fork from a 205 Be3 to a VTS box which fork bushes should be used the white ones or yellow?

Thanks,

Tom.

Depends on the arm, Just copy the bush's you had in your old box is the best way

If it's any help I bought 205 be3 bushes for my vts box from pug and they fitted perfect.

Can anyone confirm the part numbers for the 2 yellow bushes, top and bottom. I looked on service box at a 205 BE3 box and it shows 3 bushes in the picture

2175 14 - Fork Bearing SUP Upper (is this a metal thing that goes between the arm and the fork? Looks like that in the picture)

2175 15 - Fork Bearing (which is under the picture and obvious the bottom one)

Now I also spot:

2175 22 - Fork Bearing SUP Lower

All I want is the 2 plastic yellow bushes, top and bottom

There is a black plastic clip that goes on the bottom bush so maybe the SUP is a 'SUPport'? Just a guess mind.

whats on yours currently?

this diagram makes slightly more sense

Mine has 2 yellow bushes.

Thanks WP, That diagram makes perfect sense! I need 4 and 5 then.

The one I found on servicebox showed one between which threw me.

This 1.6 box uses yellow, So I will just stick with like for like unless there is any particular benefit to using the newer white over yellow? I wonder why they changed them.

the fork is different, the offset of the hole in the bush is different iirc

whats the difference then? i put white ones in my vts box and they seem ok? there was non in it when i bought it and the shaft/ arm are of an unknown pug fitment?

what problems would ocur due to the wrong ones being fitted?

having said that i have an old yellow lower bush from somewhere i used as a temp solution and this looked exactly the same as the white one i know have.

are some be3 ones smaller od at the top and the bottom? as the first set the bloke at pug tried to sell me were and they looked like little white top hats( neither end fitted in the gearbox)

there was a thread somewhere with a pic of the yellow/white next to each other and you could see the difference.

If your clutch release fork shaft has a J stamped on the top ( end ) of it you need yellow bushes . There was a good post on here that explained it all , if you use the wrong colour the contact point of the 2 fingers onto the release bearing are off centre and can cause it to fail .

The offset is different between the bushes. It's pretty obvious if you have the wrong ones as the release bearing doesn't fit and move properly. When I converted my box I bought a new arm and then had to switch to yellow bushes to get it to sit at the correct angle and work correctly.
