Help! Advice Required Regarding 206

Recommended Posts

BusEngineer

Hi I need you guys to come to my rescue!! Again! I'm currently at work and thought I'd service the other halts car between jobs this morning. It was all going well until I came to refil the gearbox ......

It doesn't have a level plug!

So the question is where do you fill these boxes?

I know it takes 2 litres so a level plug isn't necessary but a place to fill it is! Any ideas people

It's a 1.4 8 valve

Does it look like this?

Number one being the breather/filler, number two being the drain plug. If this is the case then there is no level plug as such, you just have to put in the right amount (yes its a fantastic system!), the pic i have attached is a citroen c3 MA box from a 1.4 8v, but it should be the same. You should put in 2 litres (as you know), the actual capacity is 2.1 but the last bit will never drain out. Here is what citroen have to say;

---------------

Oil capacity

Gearbox empty : 2,1 litres.

After draining : 2 litres.

CAUTION : Put in the exact quantity of oil.

Refill the gearbox with oil via the air vent aperture.(1)

---------------

Hope that helps.

Sam
