The lamps were off eBay so haven't come off a 306. You would be supprised actually how much hot air the raised bonnet lets out, if you look over the bonnet when the car is running you can see the heat coming out so must be helping a bit.

It was easy to raise by the way, I just made some ally brackets

when moving that area is under positive pressure so heat will not escape, its why 106's with bodies work well with a filter poking into the scuttle panel area

Ah right i see i thought that may be the case. Im putting mine back down again when my new auto bonnet goes on once the car is painted because as you already pointed out, doesnt realy look that nice.

By raising it at the back you also lose the firewall seal :o

I have mate yes, the old wings were wrecked, one had lots and lots of filler in and wasnt worth trying to get straight again, and they both had rust at the bottom where it bolted to the inner wings so in time they would have got tatty again so was better just to find 2 new wings, they have been fully treated , stone chipped ect on the inside so hopefuly the weather should stay out of them, not that i will be useing the car in bad weather anyway.

how are you going to get an MOT without side repeaters?

The front indicators wrap far enough around the wing to be seen from the side so this is enough to get an mot so im told by the chap who does it for me. It still has 10mths on it anyway so dont need to worry for now.

how are you going to get an MOT without side repeaters?

If you stand 12 inches out from the back wheel and look forward you must be able to see the front indicator flashing,if not side repeaters need fitting :)
