Wiring Plug Identification

Having a tidy up in the engine bay to see what I can clean up and route my GTi6 wiring loom and found this plug through the grommet under the header tank with the bonnet release

 

 

Seems fairly substantial, but I can't think what it would be that wouldn't be on the wiring loom itself. It doesn't go very far so doesn't seem lighting wise.

Never seen that before, might be for an alarm system

So is it just the bonnet release and nothing else that comes through that grommet under the header tank?

Yup, that's a non standard part
