306 Hdi Injector Dimensions

Does anyone know the diameter of the end of an injector on a 306 HDi, or have one handy to measure?

 

I'm still working on finding out what went wrong with my engine, I'm still suspecting head gasket, but I'm too busy to finish taking the engine out at the minute and I have an inspection camera on it's way that I wouldn't mind poking into the engine so I can check for obvious damage, the end is 9mm, I think it's going to be close if it will fit at all, if it won't fit right into the cylinder I should at least be able to put it to the bottom of the injector hole and see into the cylinder enough to check for piston damage.

I have a couple downstairs in a box, I'll aim to check them in the next couple of days & post the results when I can.

Just measured the nozzle on the end of a 406 injector which would be the same and its like 7mm so i dont think that is going to work for you unfortunatly

Ah well, I might still get to see the top of the piston by putting it to the bottom of the larger bit of the hole, thanks for measuring

Got the inspection camera today, no good for this job, once you get it as far into the injector hole as it will fit, all you can see is a spot, I suppose it shows that the piston is there at least!!
