you cant play with the ignition timing on a motronic equipped 1.9 like you can with jetronic

I've had my 1.9 for 2 years now having replaced a 340 BHP Impreza STI with it, yes its not a fast or surefooted but its fun to drive and 60 mph on pot holed back lanes is fast enough in either car. It took time to remember that pulling out on to mainroads required a far greater gap in traffic but I'm used to it now. Even the wife and kids enjoy being in the 205 and ask to go in "daddy's noisy car" rather than mummys 170 BHP Octavia VRs. It must be over 11 years since I've owned a car with so little power and more power does tempt me but then again the standard car is fine for my needs, if petrol prices halved overnight then I would be straight on the hunt for throttle bodies or another 8 valves.
