309 Wishbones. Odd

Pugs in Pieces

i bought a pair of 309 wishbones at pugfest off a mate on here, brand new still marked up 309 etc, had a feeling they were 205 ones as they looked shorter, got Ben Skinner to measure his and sure enough the bones i have are shorter, i got hold of a 309 driveshaft yesterday and fitted it into place to see if the wishbone was right or not, with the 309 shaft in, the hub wont push back to meet the balljoint like with a 205 wishbone, put a 205 driveshaft in and fit the wishbone and the driveshaft seems too short, you can physically see the outer cv joint pulling toward the hub as you do the nut up.

any ideas? rogue wishbones?? thanks

Usually an easy way to tell them apart is that 309 wishbones are smooth, whereas 205 wishbones are ribbed.

More than likely mis-labelled parts, which is all-too common unfortunately with parts across the board.
