Would You Bother Porting This To Smooth It Out?

Recommended Posts

Im quite picky when it comes to things like this as flow rates etc have an enormous impact on performance so when i went to fit the four branch today after trimming the excess spring off as people suggested aswell i found the ports had a load of excess weld and lumps and bumps.

Now in comparison to the standard mani its ruff as a badgers arse so im your opinion would you remove all this bird poo or leave it be?, i was planning to grind the excess off and simply smooth them out. Im not going to open the port any bigger as that would be playing with the way it was intended.

Anyway ive took some pics of the worst port so let me know what you think, the welds look silver as oppose to black as ive ran a buffing wheel around the port to clean it up.

cheers mick

yep, i did, i feel the same as you.

think about this for example, the different style of rivits used from the prototype spitfire to the production (raised) rivits knocked 22mph off it's top speed.

Cheers

not many as they werent welded around the outside, theyre prone to cracking though so quite a few have been repaired, pretty good penetration there  just on the verge of blowing through
