Quick Engine Id Needed

I have a 1.6 GTi engine sitting here but am unsure of what exactly it is. I removed it when I did the Mi swap.

It has the coil on the inlet but this could have been swapped at some time. There is blue injectors and there is a B6E plate on it.

Anyone got any ideas?

B6E is the later 1.6 GTi non-CAT engine :)

Should be a 1.6 115bhp from a phase 2 engine Damian.

Cheers guys. To throw another one out there I was told when I bought the car it had a cam in it. I[m in the middle of sorting the Mi16 out so don't have time to strip this engine down but have taken a few bits off around it and snapped a few pics of the cam and markings on it. It's been donkeys since I last had the head off a GTi so not sure if this is markings from a standard or aftermarket cam.

Also noticed a machined bit of cam in the pic below.. maybe just normal however

Whip the dizzy off (mark its current position first) and most aftermarket cams will have their part number stamped on the end of the cam.

No marks so I guess it's a standard cam fitted.

The B6E is slighly lower compression than the earlier 115 bhp engines, it is 9.75:1. It is what I used as a basis for my 1600 turbo motor that makes around 200bhp.

I'm going to strip this down and build it back up again in my spare time. I'm on the look out for a shell or one needing an engine for a wee track car.

Is there anything else different apart from compression? Would the cam have a longer duration or lift or are the basically the same. I'm thinking in terms of tuning and what could be done with it.
