Oil Spray Bar

hello

 

does anyone know of any engines that share oil spray bar components with the GTi?

I'm going to be raking around a scrapyard which has no 205s for some other stuff and wondered if there were any likely suspects i could pilfer some bits from.

I was told a while back that parts from the 16v and 8v engines might be interchangeable, but does anyone know for sure?

Any later XU10 8v will have the same oil spray bar afaik, not sure about the 16v's though but thought they were different just I can't find them on service box to compare.

If the 16v ones are the same, I have one spare from an old XU10 head.

16v ones are different

They're on service box, but only shown on one diagram: Engine > Lubrication > Oil Filter - Gauge > Petrol & XU

 

The only models with the same part number are the 1.6/1.9 8v 205s, 309s, and 405s. The 8v XU10s in the 306 etc are different, or a different part number at least anyway.

Not all of them have the holes to spray oil onto the cam lobes, Just a oil supply to the bearings

i've had a look in some scrapyards, and needless to say, there aren't any appropriate engines.

Soo.. while i have your attention, does anyone have a spray bar for a regular 1.6 they'd be willing to part with?

I'll post a wanted ad too.

The one on my xu10 doesn't have holes above the cam lobes it just has a hole in one end. Does it matter what end the hole is at?
