Gti6 Injectors

hi all

 

i have had a quick look on the search tool but i need a quick answer

 

i am currently doing a bosch motronic mp3.1 ecu conversion on my 205.

 

therefore i know the ecu will need remapping so it gives me an oportunity to change the injectors.

 

i currently have a set of 1.9 injector but are the gti6 injectors the same fitment? is there an advantage of running gti6 injectors

Yes they're the same fitment and impedance, certainly in the case of GTi-6 and Phase 1 Xsara VTS anyway.

 

(Phase 2 Xsara VTS use different injectors that I've not had chance to check yet)

There wont be any advantage whatsoever to fitting larger injectors though as your originals flow enough for around 180 IIRC, similar to Mi1 injectors, your MP3.1 would be ideally mapped for the 1.9 injectors, so save yourself £400 odd there!

Well, that does depend where the MP3.1 was sourced from - it doesn't use 214cc (1.9) injectors in all instances remember - only AFAIK in the ZX/405/BX 1.9 8v implimentations - nor does it adapt to different spec engines very well given that it's MAP based meaning that a remap is often needed regardless.
