Hi There,

As some of you may have seen in my 'finally back together' thread my the back box of my magnex exhaust comes up a bit short. What stainless steel back boxes will fit to the Magnex system to replace the current back box so that I can stop my bumper melting?

Thanks

might just ned the joints separating a little to pul the tailpipe out, they are sleeve joints IIRC.

doesnt look too bad to me, would imagine bending the hangers to make it sit a little lower will affect whether it melts the plastics rather than how far it sits back/forth

Definitely sat far too far inwards on yours - they're meant to sit something more like this:

One of the Magnex's that I had (and maybe the current one - I've not looked closely) had a short extension piece between the manifold and the mid-pipe which I couldn't work out why it was there, but looking at your car, I'm wondering if it's because they had the same issue and used it to space the exhaust back a little. I know that particular system was apparently originally mated to a standard downpipe, and the 4-branch was fitted at a later point, so possibly something to do with that?

On both of the Magnex's that I've had they've been fitted with non-standard rubbers that allow it to hang lower, and whilst I've not tried it, I'd guess that using the standard 205 rubbers would make it touch the valance and risk melting it.

Here's a picture of the one that I recently sold - you can see the extension piece that I was talking about on the manifold...

would be easy enough for an exhaust fabricator to do, I could reccomend one in West Drayton but I think thats not that close to you?

Unfortunately not, I will have an ask around.
