How Many Looms For 8V Engines?

Strange one this, i know about coil on inlet manifold loom, which are far as i know all the loom comes through the driver side footwell, ph2?. Then coil on inner arch isnt the loom half through passenger side for coil, ig amp and other things like starter wire etc? ( like a E plate car i have here atm) then other half of loom through drivers footwell for all other stuff and only one brown plug??

Now, i found a loom in shed for gti that has 2 brown plugs, all through drivers fotwell but it has ig amp wirring at end of loom that would be on inner arch and the coil too?? Its not a ph2 loom as the coil wires are "loose" and not a plug?? Help please!

Phase 1 would be as you said, half the loom through the passenger side plus the tachymetric relay on the chassis leg.

 

very early Phase 1.5's were similar but had the tachy relay next to the ecu, later P1.5's the full loom from the rhs still with the coil on the inner wing.

 

so sounds like a mid Ph1.5 loom, 88-90 ish.

Don't forget some late Ph 1.5 have the loom that runs from main grommet by drivers footwell with 2 brown plugs, coil on inlet manifold, ignition module on O/S wing near where early coil would mount.

 

As opposed to Ph 2 with coil on inlet, ign module on N/S inner wing near fuel filter.

Would explain why I couldn't find them on a car up the scrap yard! looked everywhere and took dash out!

Cheers for that, so there are at least 4 from ph1 to ph2. I think mine must be the later ph1.5 as mentioned! Typical, i havent got a very early ph1.5!
