Adjusting Carb Idle Speed

Recommended Posts

Obey_R

Now everything is running fairly smoothly I'd like to bring the idle speed down on my carbs. When warm they currently sit between 1400-1600rpm, and when cold about 800-1000. This was fine when I didn't have a choke cable, but now I've fitted one I can afford to let the idle drop slightly, knowing they'll still run when cold.

So the question is, knowing the carbs are all balanced properly, can I just adjust each idle screw by the same amount to get the desired idle speed, or is it more complicated than that?

Just adjust the throttle stop on the linkage.

Surprised that it's idling so fast for you though, as it's was around 900-1000rpm on mine when warm and 500-600rpm cold.
