How Can I Test If A Ignition Modul It's Ok?

Helo

I have put a mi16 engine into 205. A engine it's 1.9 xu9js. Now I would start a engine but this it's impossible because isn't a spark out of coil. Can somebody tell how to check if it's everythnik ok with a ignition modul or if somebody know where can be a problem. Maybe it's a problem with a crankshaft senzor?

Have somebody got some wiring diagram where it's wrote how it's work?

Thank you

I know everything about conversion. I made a conversion and it's everythink ok, but a problem it's a spark. How can I test where it's a probelm.

Maybe it's a problem with coil, maybe with ignition modul or maybe with some wire which it's not connecter (maybe with groun or some another wire).

Can someboy explain how it's work, or if have somebody some guide to check wher it's a problem?

Thank you

If you have a search on the forum, there's a useful program called CAPS (I think it's sticky'd in one of the forums, maybe Engine Management). If you download and install the program you'll find lots of useful info on how to diagnose Mi16 wiring problems. If you've got a multimeter you can 'backprobe' (you pull back the rubber boot and put the multimeter prongs in to the back of the plug) the Ignition Module and then read the values of the various terminals under different conditions (ignition on, cranking etc) and then compare those values to what you should have according to the CAPS data.

I'd start with that, and then depending if the values are as they should be or not, go from there.

Its quite difficult one really, generally you make sure everything else is ok and if the module is good you will have spark, if its not you wont! Much like the crankshaft sensor, this will cause the same issue.

Substitute it for a known good item, making sure the plate is clean and has plenty of silicone paste on the rear, is probably the easiest option.

TDC sensor is pretty cheap and quite commonly available.

Do the spark plugs get wet with fuel? If the crankshaft sensor isn't working you wont get fuel injection or spark but if the ignition amp is failed you will still have fuel.

I dont know i the spark plugs get fuel. The problem it's also a injector. They don't get a - from the ecu. So you think it's a problem with crankshaft sensor, because not work a injector?

So tomorrow I will replace a cranckshaft sensor with new one.

Thank you
