Rear Disc Brake Guards

Can the rear brake disc guards be left off?

 

Both sides are down to one or two usable threads where the guards should bolt, the fronts don’t have them, do the rears really need them?

They can be removed without a problem. There was a thread not so long ago discussing this.

Never fit them on anything, More likely to get something trapped in them than anything else plus unless new always look horrid
