ok ...a little lost , what actually is a sad , what does it do ? , do i need one if im running bike carbs ? :blink:

SAD is located at the rear of the engine under the AFM and distributor. not attached to the distributor -thats the advanced vacuum.

The SAD is attached to the coolant housing - where there is a blue sensor (coolant temp sensor) - it's mounted on that piece of the engine.

 

Looks like a dish on its side with a pipe attached to either end, and a sensor/plug socket point on it.

 

Have no idea how if effects you if you wanted to run bike carbs.

SAD is basically for cold starting and will not be needed if running carbs as they should have a choke.
