Hi all , just thought i would let you all feel my pain lol

ok so after a few wonted posts i am still unable to obtain my iner arch engine mount , so with my battery recip saw inhand i decided to make the most of a day off work and head to the local scrappy to hunt down this mount. its at this point my day starts to roll down hill

 

Problem number one ( at scrap yard number one , guess you can see where this is goin lol ) after a brief chat with a with an untrustable scrap yard work he sent me off in the direction on the only 205 in the yard ,now i know why he was smiling, as i found the car at the bottom of a 5 car pile with the bonnet shut and no chance in hell of getting it open. Im now quite cross , and after another chat with the same untrustable man there was no chance of moving the other 4 cars

 

Problem number two ITS NOW RAING QUITE HARD !!!

 

Problem number three ( scrap yard number two ) " hi there fella got any 205's " now i was quite shocked at the bluntness of his answer but it was a quick firm "no" follwed by him walking off into the abliss thanks scrap yard number two !

 

problem number four (scrap yard number three) (yes its still rainning lol ) now they did have a 205 untill two days ago untill they cut it up and weighed it in , but knew of another 205 in a yard that i didnt even know existed so he made a phone call and scribbled down some unreadable directions and back off i went slightly proud that after a full day of hunting i was now closing the gap between me and my prey ( or so i thought )

 

So now im at the final car grave yard ,and there she was a beautiful black GR in all her glory on oping the door, and this reaily was the lowest point of the day for me , i was confronted with a half remaining phase one dash at this point my heart sank and only to confirm my worst nightmare when i lifted the bonnet to find ............yes you guessed it a gaping hole where once lived another xy engine just like my own car.

 

Now the point of this is i remember when every scrapy in the land had a handfull of 205's living there. Where have they all gone ?? And why cant i effing find one

 

So after a waisted day and fianly dry i sit here with my cup off coffee and let you all know my pain as im sure that some of you out there have had days just the same , and sitting here i ask myself the question "why do i bother with cars ???" the answer , well for me its because when ever things go wrong and when ever im feeling down and when ever im feeling lost, It all stops when i shut the door behind me a fill her up and i drive the s*it out of her untill that little orange light comes on and its time to go home , no woman ,no substance,no price can put a smile on my face than a quick rag up the b roads ......... even the thought has made today worth it

So its the mount on the innner wing that holds the battery and gearbox mount you want?

 

I've a spare off a 1.9 gti

unfortunatley its not , its the other side where the top mount actually bolts to the inner wing on my car ,being an xy, engined car i dont have the mount thats welded to the inner wing, this is the bit im having an absolute nightmare trying to get hold of

I know these words count for nothing, as ive been told them and then thrown the nearest tool to hand at people :/

 

I know its probably something you've done, but have you looked online? the sites like 247 parts, which send out a parts request to scrappies nationwide, who then call you if they have the part. It's come good on several friends cars.

 

Also: define the exact part you want? even better a picture (if poss) - theres a Dturbo and 2 smaller engined 1.1 etc etc (think a junior and zest if that makes any difference) down at a scrappy i might be heading past tomorrow. If i end up there, ill have a root around and get back to you

as crudely highlighted its the mount thats actually welded to the inner arch it would need to be cut off and rewelded into my car

I'll probably be going down a scrap yard near me towards the end of thenweek that usuall has a few 205s in I'll let you no if they have if you can't find one near you?

I can find the number of a guy that breaks them in Sc*nthorpe for you if you want? he would prob saw one up

well if you could dig that out that would be a grate help im gonna wait untill james comes back to me though as trying to explain over the phone, then paying postage ,and reciving the wrong part through mis understandment would just be a pain the the donkey , and as james is only up the road a fair bit lol i could go and cut it out myself to save all the confusion

Woodgates always has a few base models and Lydd car breakers did have a gti a couple of months back
