Oil Filter

I didn't mark on the box what engine i bought this for.

 

can anyone say if this is ok for a Mi16?

needs flash player 10 so wont work on my phone :(

Hmm, not getting mchjoy from that.

 

It fitted on and was the same size as the one that came off. Is that good enough?

 

No oil seemed to be recirculating back down the oil filler pipe (through the metal filter (not that its there), although im not sure if thats how its supposed to be?

think you are a brave man fitting a filter that you are unsure off when for a few quid yiou can buy the right one.still mi16 engines never have oil proplems do they?

lol! its an oil filter, it fits, whats the problem?!

 

oil filler pipe is probably kinked or something if it takes a while to fill up, mothing to do with the filter

Lol, it would either have been for the 8v or the current 16v. Are they different?

 

I remember buying 2 filters a few services ago then on more recent services forgetting I had a spare and buying oil filters leaving this one in a box for future use. I've had the 16v for a while now so it should be the right one:-P

 

why isn't there a standard oil filter that fits all cars? If I ruled the world this would be in my top 10 of things to change

for a pug youre not far off, Most will fit but theres a few different specs, newer ones are made long life for the longer service intervals and most the older part numbers are being discontinued.
