Phase 2 Vts To 205 Conversion.

I am getting sick of not being able to get my 1.9 gti to run right and am considering converting it to 2.0 16v.I have got the chance of buying a phase 2 xsara vts,59k with full citroen service history.I have driven it and it goes like f*ck ,no noises, doesnt smoke ,ticks over. What more could you ask?The only thing that scares me is the wiring for the engine management.I checked on auto data and the wiring for the phase 1 looks straightforward, one ECU with various live and earth connections. The phase2 wiring looks scary, the engine management ECU is connected to 2 other multi function modules (via can-bus?). Would it be possible to get this lot to work on a 205 or would the best way be to get a phase 1 ecu and loom.Just as an example, the phase 2 speedo, rev counter etc is connected to the multi function unit and that is connected to the Management ECU.What do you think? Rob.

Without a doubt the best way is to get the phase 1 ECU and loom. The phase 2 multiplex as you correctly say is a nightmare, I don't know of anyone that has tried to make it work in a 205.

As said get the single plug ECU loom, Not even worth the time of fitting the later systems unless you've got nothing else to do,

Engine's are the same and if you can get the car for £500.00 then it's worth it
