My Mi16 Rr Session

Recommended Posts

Took my mi16 to HT racing near Brands Hatch today. I wasn't sure if the mixture was right and I wanted a rough power check.

It was pretty quick but I knew pots 2 and 3 were down on compression slightly.

First run made 134bhp and the mixture was very lean, with a Lambda of about 1.3!

A quick tweak of the AFM spring tension and the Lambda richened up to about 1 and the power up to 144.

So a 10bhp gain for £30 and 10 minutes work.

It now feels much stronger, especially below 5000rpm and picks up more smoothly. The idle is rougher though.

I can now hit the limiter in 4th up a long hill I use regularly, whereas I couldn't before.

After the beam gets rebuilt and a stainless steel exhaust gets made, a skim and headgasket are required.

Just thought I'd share this result with you all and any comments/slaggings/long discourses on the relative merits of RRs most welcome.

Cheers,

Antony
