Gti6 Dipstick Question.

Got my engine back together and running well.

Small concern over the height of the dip stick tube.

When i put the inlet manifold back the dipstick tube was in the correct position but about an inch higher at the point where its bolted to the manifold. IE i cant bolt it down.

Doesnt seem to be bent at all either.

Help!!

they bend quite easily when taking the manifold off as its a bit of a faff, as theyrecurved you probably wont notice!

 

they can be pulled out of the block though so its possible it has moved, though in my experience they're usually pretty stuck in there, iirc there is a shoulder which'll butt up against the hole in the block.
