Striped Threads In Calliper

Just been told by the local garage that my brothers 205 xs needs a new calliper, when they were fitting new brake lines all the thread in the calliper just stripped from what i can see. It just seems a little much to have to get a new calliper. Is the not a way of tapping the hole out and either using the same brake lines or ones with a bigger thread.

Just go to a scrappers and get another, it'll only be tenner!

Or get one from a motor factor, it won't be much more!
