Gti6 205 Loom Help Wanted

Recommended Posts

djvu205

I have a 98 model gti6 engine which im wanted to put into my 93 205 gti. can anyone on this forum supply a plug and play loom and ship to Oz? what things,

if any, should i be aware of before i remove emgine. i have done some searching on here but there doesnt seem to be a definative answer on the unlocking of the ecu?

well maybe there is an answer in there somewhere but im currently not seeing it too clearly? (que abuse)

i have a running car with keys, do i just simply unplug the ecu whilst the ignition is on or car running? is this a gaurantee to unlock the ecu successfully?

also does anyone know if it is possible to use all the locks from the gti6 as the ones on my 205 are all stuffed and miss matched keys. thought i might be able to use everthing and

keep the keyless entry bit of it. or would this overcomplicate things. is the button on the key that unlocks the doors linked with the immobliser?

Turn the key to position two (ignition), wait a moment for the immobiliser light to go out (if fitted) and unplug the ECU with the ignition still on.

That 100% works to unlock the ECU.

That's for transponder key models (ie Phase 2 and 3) - for the keypad models (ie Phase 1) switch the ignition on, enter the code and wait for the light to go green, and then unplug with the ignition still on and immobiliser light still green.

im guessing mine is a phase 2 or 3 as there is no keypad. there seems to be a few light flashing on the centre console just below the stereo. they dont seem to be stopping? is this normal? i need to check again when its running if they go out. the car was in an accident and had a hard hit in the side. if it had an immobliser light where would it be?

Light is near the vents in the centre console.

Immoboliser box is under the dash above the coin tray.

Plug and play looms are available from members: Miles or Spiky. They may be able to ship to Oz.

i cant seem to see any immob light during or after the car starts. the concerning flashing lights in the centre console below stereo was the clock and air temp display. probley went funny after the flat battery it had. i put a new battery in and set the time, this part is all good now. so as far the light going off after starting it there doesnt seem to be one? its not part of the stereo is it? as my stereo is missing.

is it possible it doesnt have a immobilizer? i have check and double checked and cant seem to see anything on the dash that fits the description. is there a sure way to check it other than the light, its just as a matter of interest now. its an australian delivered car, maybe they are different to uk ones?

Possibly different - I have no experience of the 306's made for non-UK market I'm afraid.

Just switch on the ignition to the 2nd click, wait a moment and unplug the ECU with the ignition still on. It will be unlocked fine.

In the UK (and the rest of Europe?) new cars have had immobilisers fitted by law since 1997 but if they aren't legally required in Australia I imagine Peugeot didn't bother fitting them.
