A few words on the spec and other important details like mileage, MOT etc.

All looks to be tidy at a glance, but from what I can see it's going to be a fairly niche market that you're aiming at with a top money stripped out caged 8v on carbs. There's buyers out there certainly, but I'd say that most people spending strong money on 205's aren't after stripped/caged cars - those that do typically want them cheap as a trackday hack, or properly prepared to competition ready spec (which I'm hazarding a guess yours isn't)

It does look very mint and well put together, but for that money i'd want at least an mi16 or gti6 motor in the front and a proper cage.

If your in no rush sit tight you may get it.

Remember prices are going up and most are rot boxes now with little time left.....

Good luck with the sale.

I couldn't get 4k for a VERY tidy Miami with a fully rebuilt Mi16 running @ 197bhp. If I waited longer I'm sure I might of in the end but you never know how long you'll have to wait!

ive put it up for 3.5k, do you guys think this is still too much to ask ?

ive just quickly worked out you'd make your money back and more if you broke the car, if it doesnt sell for 3.5k, i'll keep it

Its a bit off topic but is there a thread detailing the work required to fit those skyline calipers? I would be interested in a gander at that! More on topic though; good luck with the sale, seems a quality 205!

EDIT - I take it back! i searched and found it before the search police kill me!

Asking price doesn't seem too unreasonable, although as above, how long you'll wait for the right buyer is something else entirely - it's a fairly niche market you're aiming at, in the middle of an economic downturn, and at the start of the summer holiday period.

One thing that did jump out was selling with that little MOT remaining would put me and I suspect most buyers right off though - if you're wanting that sort of money for a car, it really needs a long ticket on it, not three weeks. My gut reaction reading adverts for cars being sold with next to no MOT is that there's something amiss with them and won't pass an MOT without work. The absolute best thing you can do on a car that you're selling IMO is to sell it with a fresh 12 month MOT.

niche ? i thought their was thousands of people that used these cars for track use ? does it have to be a mi16/gti6 engine to be able to drive it fast around a track ?

i can see where your coming from about the mot, one look at all the new parts and 200 mile since its last mot would also make me think it will never pass its next mot..

you're probably right about people not wanting to spend so much on that type of car, even though ive spend around 8k on it
