I didn't use thread lock on the oil filter stud, no problems so far, just sure oil filter was on securely. I got rid of the heat exchanger too.

Will be checking tomorrow if I have put a sufficient amount on the thread that it does not come out when I undo the filter

 

 

Remember to use either panel wipe or methylated spirit around the threads, so the thread lock will stick properly.

Another new tip learnt. Will petrol/brake cleaner suffice?

Luckily all the 205's in Australia had A/C and are thus fitted with remote filters as per below. #15 is 1103 54

Pop your findings in here. I am going to aim for half in the block with loctite. Half poking out and go from there.

 

Just to let you know, the oil resistant loctite did the job.

 

I unscrewed the filter and the thread did not move, tryed to wind it by hand but it seemed pretty stuck!

I pre tested mine a while ago and the oil filter came off the thread without the need for loctite, but im still going to use some because when the filter has been on for a while it could make the thread come out.
