Any Point In Selling A Half Built 16V Turbo Lump?

I haven't touched, or even thought about my 205 project for ages now, the shell would probably be worth more as scrap than trying to sell as is, since I started fitting a dimma kit and chopped a rear arch out, plus the lack of standard seat mounts.

The cage could be sold, seats could either be made into seats for the house, or sold easily enough (cobra monacos in black), the problem is the engine, would it be worth anything in it's current state? 8v turbo bottom end, gti6 head, machined s16 pistons, MLS headgasket. It's built up, new bearings etc, has a gti6 inlet manifold but I haven't got a turbo manifold for it, I started making one by cutting up a gti6 exhaust manifold, but didn't get much further, it's been sat for a good while, could leave the brand new paddle clutch on.

The quaife diff would probably sell in a crack too!

On the other hand, once I've got my house sorted and finished breaking the 306 v6 I'll have enough space to work on it again, dunno what to do

I personally would be sceptical buying someone else's half finished engine, no offence, but you could be selling something that you've realised wont work, or has been badly built. (I'm not accusing you of anything, just my experience with past engines).

How much work would it take to get the engine running, it would sell much easier, and for a higher price if people could see it running, even if it was without the turbo and exhaust.

To be honest mate I can't really see it being worth a great deal. Like monday fan said it would be worth a whole lot more running. Essentially all it is at the moment is a S16 bottom end and GTI6 head.

It wouldn't take much to fire it up, I'm sure I'll have an ecu somewhere that would run it, even if I make a loom and a quick map for the megasquirt I have laying around, then I'd just need to bolt it down, or into the shell, it would be loud with no manifold, but it would run!

I can see me ending up with a collection of engines with no home! So far I have the v6 (hopefully that will reach the reserve tonight though!), the 16v turbo with no turbo manifold, and a 1.9TD from the 306 that I put the v6 in, it needs the pump swapping back to the lucas, or a new bosch one fitting and it'll be a goodun again.

I don't particularly want to sell the 16v turbo, I'd like to see it through this time, even if it doesn't end up in the 205, but if I could get decent money for it I'd let it go, I've got more important things that need my money now!
