Anyone In Kent, West Preferably, Can Fit New Trailing Arm Bearings?

Hi,

the rear suspension on my 205 squeaks after a few miles, and I know the n/s trailing arm bearing has a bit of play in it.

 

I have neither the time or the inclination to do this myself, so want to know if anyone round my way can do this?

 

I have a brand new set of OEM bearings, but can't find a garage, even french car specialists, near me who want to take the job on!

 

Dan Taylor greased up the beam a few years ago when resetting the ride height, so it should (!) be a straightforward job.

 

Happy to pay a going rate and help out in any way I can!

Were your beams rebuilt with pukka Pug parts?

Remember that depending how bad its got, your tube could be dead if the arm has worn through the bearing and into the tube.

 

If that's the case, it's not just a case of new bearings and a replacement shaft I'm afraid.

Good point. As I said in my OP, Dan did say it wasn't too bad, but needed a new bearing a couple of years ago.

 

It starts to squeak after a few miles and now displays some obvious negative camber. Not much play in it though.

 

Maybe a fully rebuilt beam would be the best option. Need to talk prices!

Two years is a long time though, especially if it needed a bearing replacing back then...
