Gti6 Loom Differences

Recommended Posts

Hope somebody an help as asking on other forums just seems to get either ignored or abuse!! :(

Basically my rallye block is cracked and I've had to get another engine for it.

Problem is ( if it is a problem ) it's from a phase 2 and some of the loom sensor plugs are different

What I want to know is are all the wires that go into the multi plugs the same? Eg pin one on phase 2 is to the same sensor of pin 1 on the phase 2.5 rallye

I could just swap the loom and sensors but don't want to if I don't have to

Cheers

I don't know the answer. But what I would do is sit both engines next to each other on the floor and swap over sensors until you are happy that the loom in the car will plug into the engine.

I don't know for sure between Phase 2 and 3 GTi-6's, but certainly the pinouts on the round multiplug often do differ on 306's

As per Tom's reply, IMO the easiest/quickest way is to just swap over the sensors from your old engine to the new one and use your existing loom.

Ive had a good look and there are minimum of 2 different

The sensor in top of the throttle body and the high pressure ps pipe.

I will just have to bell them out

I'd just swap the sensors over, the pinouts are the same though, just the plug mouldings changed.

Just had a quick check with the multi meter and they are the same so will just go with the phase 2 loom and swap the sensors over

Cheers for the quick replies.
