Fault 34

Recommended Posts

martin81

Hi

I have a code 34(the K sign is lit, and the fault is read via the key)

It os the carbon canister or something about it.. It is rigged correctly in my opinion.

From TB a hose goes to carbon canister, with the "sensor" in between and switch connected.. Another hose from the carbon canister goes to the petrol tank, also with something in between...

What is usualy wrong with it??

If plumbed correctly and no splits or kinks etc I would say either purge valve or wiring to it at fault.

Is the purge valve the one with the wire/connector to it??

Possible to buy new one( other than peugeot)?

Ill try cleaning it.. If it doesnt help, anyone know where to buy new one? Been searching the web, none for Peugeot, lots for VW/Audi, and it looks the same...

The same purge valve is also fitted to Mi16's. If you can't find another, temporarily replace with a 1200ohm resistor. This should make ECU happy.

Cleaned it today.. Still shows its faulty.. Anyway to measure resistance or so on it?? To see if it really is faulty..

Or perhaps its the open/close function in it, which is faulty..

Any suggestions where to buy?? Peugeot in Denmark is about £90 for new one..

Its quite a common part, you'll find it on lots of later psa vehicles as well as many others though the part numbers probably vary loads, the actual workings are much the same, easy to find in a breakers yard.
