Steering Column Plug

In this picture below, to the right of the ignition barrell next to the yellow plug, what is meant to be plugged in there?

 

I have one red connector plugged in, and another which seems to have come loose. What will I find that doesn't work eventually?

Black wires are more than likely related to an alarm/immobiliser.

 

That is an earthing block. You may only have one yellow plug on that side, so don't worry about that.

Phew. Thanks for the clarification.

 

There are a fair few wires around there that have been spliced for an alarm it looks like. I am not going to touch anything until I get it running so I can rule out it's not me that re wired something wrong

 

There is an old looking box and a blue wire, which I imagine wouldn't be standard.
