2.0 Turbo Conversion Question

I have just taken out the lump from my Xantia turbo and have noticed that the flywheel has crank sensor & pickup as part of the actual flywheel. I then look at my Mi16 1.9 flywheel and it isnt the same setup.

If i use the mi16 flywheel what does one do for the crank position sensor??

 

Or am i totally missing something here ? Anybody explain the nuts and bolts of this area of the conversion pleasems :}

sounds like you do not have an mi16 flywheel if there is no toothed ring for the tdc sensor

Mmmm....that was what i was thinking too ! It has just all teeth going around the circle and no "cutouts of teeth" like the Xantia one.

I measured it and it was 215mm which is mi16 spec. Could it be a 205 standard one by chance and ive been sold a pup ?

I havent seen an mi16 one for ages so at a loss on what it should look like.....any description guys? or pic?

Just Googled pics of Mi16 flywheel and yep....me being a sirry irriot has got a 205gti one from out of my parts box. Thus problem solved....thanks for the input peeps....case solved !! :}
