Engine Knocking

Hey guys Over the last couple of days i have noticed a loud tapping/knocking noice coming from my engine, when I rev the car the knocking speeds up. I have spoken to acouple of friends and they seem to think that it could be piston slap a bent valve or the timing is to advaced... I am just wonedering If anyone else has any ideas. I will post a video tomorrow to help you guys out.

could be anything hopefully tappets or worse the big end.

Can you determine where on engine is it top end or bottom end knock and does it alter with rpm?

Also what engine is it?
