Whilst sorting out the GTI6/205 wiring looms i found this >th_Brownplugmistery003.jpg

Its wires go to the fan switch plug wires/battery loom and believe it could be the oil temp sensor wires etc but need this to be confirmed as i cant find the other part of this plug

Cheers G

If it goes to the fan thermoswitch plug/loom then it's the fan test plug - link each pair of wires together and the fan will run on slow and fast speed :)

Cool, thanks Anthony.

So i take it the green is the earth then connect the others each in turn for fast and slow.

IIRC it's a +12v feed rather than an earth, but otherwise yes that's how it works.

You should have seen it before i gave it a quick wipe over

I have a brand new looking one spare from years ago that has 5 wires and will soldier the worn out wires to it, nothing on my project will be dirty/rusty :P
