Gsf Still Supply 205 Parts?

Recommended Posts

lagonda

Apart from exhaust parts I've been getting away lightly, & not bought anything for the CTi for 3 years.

Couldn't last of course. O/S cv joint boot has failed, so I need another shaft. Just looked at GSF online catalogue...& they list parts for the 205...aaargh! Do they still stock parts, or is it all main stealer now?

I'm in France now, so can anyone recommend a French firm dealing on the lines of GSF / Europarts? Peugeot dealer prices here are madder than the UK!

Can you not just buy a CV boot???

Ironically I have a spare driveshaft...has to be for the other side, naturally!

Yes, of course a new boot would do the trick, but I've always been put off by the Haynes manual not covering dismantling the cv joint. Presumed that means special tools needed...or is that not the case?! I have a pretty comprehensive collection of tools including hydraulic press, & rebuilt the CTi engine & rear beam myself, so not afraid to have a go!

Yes they do still supply parts like this as they were used on much younger Peugeots as well.

As for the dismantling of the outer CV joint, its most likely not covered as the manual was written originally for the 1.6 where you cannot do so, you need to remove the inner joint and slide the boot down the shaft.

A 1.9 outer CV can be tapped off the shaft however making the task much quicker.
