Hi all, I was stopped at some traffic lights and this pulled up I only caught a quick glimpse of it, it's very rare. It's a Jaguar ...... HSE-SE think. Looks like a schimitar.

Sorry it's not a more detailed clear picture. Can someone identify it ?

Lynx Eventer, the only good looking XJS??

I know Roger, one of the guys that formed Lynx, and he's a top bloke, if slightly eccentric.

This explains why, after making his mark building excellent D-type replicas and XJS estates, he then went on to make Skoda Rapid convertibles!

I like it :) I imagine without the rear seats it would make a belting gangster hearse

Somewhat off on a tangent, but what on earth happened to all the Skoda Estelles and Rapids?

They used to be a comparitively common sight on the roads, and then all of a sudden they all seemed to disappear and I don't remember seeing one in years.

Did they all get bought up and shipped back East in a similar way to what happened to Lada's, or were they a victim of our image-obsessed society?

I bet VW bought them all up to save brand image or what there is of it

Skoda Estelle - the poor man's 911

Anthony, I think you are right, they went East to die.

Abit of topic, but whilst looking at some pics of the XJS estate, I found these...

That Daytona has got to be a hearse, surely? They can't possibly have made it look like a black framed greenhouse for any other reason, especially the ghastly boot

The other three look pretty good though - the P6 looks like it could be factory, the 944 looks a little M-Coupe like although the C-pillar (in particular the petrol flap) is a little arkward looking, and even the Vantage works to a point - although I'm distinctly unconvinced by the rear quarter glass that looks very out of place...

The P6 looks great, possibly better than the saloons....

It looks like Renault 21 estate rear light clusters on that Aston, they do look good but I'm not sure I'd want dodgy French electrical parts on a handmade British car.
