Removing The Pas

Recommended Posts

Strictly_Derv

I've got a FMIC project to do on my DT and for various annoying reasons the easiest way to do it is to fit an xud9te cam aswel as the vacuum pump which goes on the end of the cam not the pulley type my current one and then fit an xud9 manifold so I can plumb in the cooler.

So does the whole rack need to be removed to take off the ram or can you get away with just draining the fluid?

I'll take some pics and make a guide if it all goes well

Any help would be appreciated

You can unbolt the ram laying under the car on your back. It's 1 bolt, 1 nut and a few pipes. Then just remove the pump.

Cheers Dave. Did you put the original bolts back in the rack where the ram went or are they too long?

Best start going to the gym more as that engines heavy!

Does anyone know whether the bumpers need to be removed to take the rad and fans out?

The ram bolts to the rack, it's not the bolts that secure the rack to the subframe.

It doesn't.
