Speedo Cable

Recommended Posts

Removed my instrument panel earlier. I pulled it out to get the plugs off, particularly the small blue one. I pulled a bit harder than anticipated and the white plug came away and the speedo cable slid through from its sleeve. It is still joined at the back to turn the speedo etc, and I think maybe when it goes back against the dash it may hold it enough not to turn.

Here is a pic.

Have I broken it? Shall I add another to my growing list of parts?

I think as long as it clips onto the back of the speedo properly it should be fine.

I'd personally get a new one. The inner cable may not reach the back of the clocks even though the white bit is clipped in place, as the white clip keeps the inner cable forced into the clocks.
