Life Expectancy Of Wishbone Poly Bushes

Recommended Posts

Found what the knocking noise was... ovalled hub :(

F*CKS SAKE!

put a jubilee between the balljoint and hub, screwed it tight to take up the play. Did the balljoint bolt real tight and its stopped all unwanted effects.

Any body have an OS 1.9 gti hub they'd like to part with?

The poly bushes were visably worn and it was quite easy to get the pug ones in. Feels a Hell of a lot better!

Would ruined polybushes cause the car to snatch from side to side in corners and veer into the curb under throttle? (even light throttle at 50mph!)

Yes in my experience it would, my old 306 p bushes were soo badly worn it was a death trap to drive.

Check the condition of your hubs aswell.

Odd.

I've had both the Polysport (yellow) and Polyrace (red) that Rally Design sell and never had any issues - still going strong after 30k miles, despite trackday and LSD abuse, and I know others that have had similar good experiences with them as well. The only thing is that I'm pretty sure that all of them were bought two or more years ago, so it could be that they've changed in the meantime somewhat and they're now as s**t as other polybushes on the market :(

Does anyone know the part number for the wishbone bolt / washer / nut / bush kit you can still get from Pug? :)

Have a look under part numbers in the pinned parts thread. Glpoo posted it up 359907 £24
