Just Bought - Pes 145M, Anyones Old Car?

Recommended Posts

miamibungers

As per the title, I've just bought this car and would like to know if anyone on here used to own it. Looking through the history, it appears as though the owner of it in 2007/8 spent a lot of time / money on it converting it to a GTI6.

Would like some more info on it if anyone has it?

Yeah id up for that, just waiting for it to be ready from the bodyshop - a tesco van thought he'd be kind and pull out and take my front end off :-(

thanks for the welcome flipper - I was over exaggerating previously, the only damage was a smashed headlight, dented wing and smashed lower bumper. She looks nice & shiny now though!

wilyoldave, is that a jday sticker I see in your rear window?

Hi miamibungers - yes it is a JDay sticker - I know James Day and I bought my 205 off him - has your new/old car had history with JDay?

I work v.near Jday so he does any work needed on the car etc, keep thinking about asking him to Mi/Gti6 my Miami but it is to original and good condition so I guess I shouldnt really!

Give us a shout if you want to meet up - any excuse to get more pics of the car! I am not sure how many 205 owners there are around here - I don't see v.many! 1 black e reg 1.9 in Yeovil and Wes and thats about it.

Cheers.

Dave,

Yes I know James very well. I reckon I've paid for most of his holidays over the past few years in repair bills alone! He did a 406 turbo conversion on a 306 xsi that I had a few years back, I have since seen it back in Yeovil (t363btd). That was a fast car but loved unleaded too much!!

Is your Miami the one which had the sunroof? I remember it being very clean.

I'll give you a shout once I've got mine back

Yep thats the one - do you know when the sunroof was removed? Yeah I think James has done pretty well out of me as well! my previous 306Gti6 and 306 Rallye have spent some time at his place!

Cheers.

It was removed whilst James had it, bit of paint done too IIRC. I think that was around the time he had the gti6 laser, your Miami & his White one all at the same time?

He has sold the lazer and of course the Miami - but he still has the white one - it is v.nice! Must go and see him havent been in for a while. I wonder who done the sunroof job? and why as well!

James (or one of his workforce) did the removal & welding, he wanted to borrow my roof lining as a stencil after it was removed but it was summer so I was using the car. It was removed because it was one of those gash Britax jobbers.

Nice! mine came with the goodwood style wheels too, jealous of your low mileage but I just couldn't leave mine for that long without driving it! I'm hoping the '6 will be taking up the most of the mileage now, and my blue one will spend some more time tucked up.

I know what your saying mate, just moted the old girl and am going to put some miles on her, i have a 306 rallye that i use everyday (in the summer) so that takes some mileage. Its weird when i take the 205 out, most or at least alot of people stare at you, i suppose they are not that common sight these days??

I've just noticed something with your pics; you have orange indicators!! I know its strange but mine came with smoked ones which I wasnt sure were standard or not on the later models so I changed them to new orange ones.

I'm gonna stick the smoked ones on the '6. Speaking of which I'll post some pics up.

Didn't look dirty to me mate, nice to one around! Mines pretty hanging at the mo a it hasn't had a wash for weeks & I've removed the trim inserts in preparation for taking them back to original colour.

It does go very well once you get it in the upper echelons of the rev range. Tbh the only reason I bought one was because I love the way the pug handles but I wanted a faster one than the Miami. Rather than butcher the original car I just bought another one! Probably worked out cheaper too!

Ive been thinking of doing something similar - dont really want to cut the miami about - was thinking about getting a cheap 306 gti6 to hack around in.

As for your wheels fit the superleggeras and sell me those lush wheels above :D , are you after a std exhaust? mine might be up for sale as Im on the lookout for a s/s system or b/box.
