Hi, i have just fitted a 2011 spec (plates on both sides of the diff) to my BE3 box, and upon trying to turn the road wheels when on axle stands there is a lot of resistance, (55Lb/Ft aprox when tested on a torque wrench)

The car is not in gear, i have tried slackening off the 3, 13mm speedo housing bolts which i presume is the only thing that preloads the diff bearings, its not the brakes tying, nor the intermediate bearing.

So unless its just a case of having to bed the diff in, im at a bit of a loss. I can see some thing burning out driving it as it is!

Thanks for looking

Matt

Sounds to me like the gearbox casing needs relieving somewhere.

I have been an idiot, its seems the diff is touching the casing somewhere, as i slackened off the 8 diff cover bolts and 3 speedo drive bolts, and the wheels turn a LOT easier! Hope it hasent deformed the diff housing.

Does anyone know where these usually rub?

Thanks

Matt

You should easily see the witness marks on the casing I would have thought
