Any Diffrence Between 1.6/1.9 Afm?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

Is there any difference between 1.6 air flow meter and 1.9 air flow meter?

If I install a 1.6 air flow meter on a 1.9 engine will the car run badly?

I'm trying to figure out why my car is not stable on the RPM (plays between 1000-1700 RPM) and in the morning if i don't play with the throttle it turns off.

Could it be because my 90 degree pipe has a hole in it? (i'm waiting for a new pipe)

This is the pipe:

Thanks!

The hole in tge pipe certainly won't help as it is allowing unmetered air into the system.

The AFM are different, a 1.6 will not run well with a 1.9 AFM and vice versa.

sort the pipe first it will have incorrect fuelling due to unmetered air entering system.

as for the AFM i know they are different but have no idea how as the checks in haines manual give same resistance readings they also look the same so a bit baffling as to how they differ?

They have different fuel trim , different inner print board and different spring load adjustment .
