Correct Release Bearing

Recommended Posts

Iain-gti

Hi,

I am currently fitting a peugeot 205 1.9 be1 box to Gti6 engine. Its got a 405 1.9 mi16 clutch fitted but the release bearing I dont think it will operate properly due to the plastic clips on the outside edge. Anyway i have taken some Pictures so you can see if its the correct fitment/bearing.

Thanks in advanced

Iain

BE1 bearing is a different design to a BE3 - it's metal and sort of "hooks over" more.

Iain, if you get stuck, I have 2 BE3 1.9 gearboxes here.

thanks for the replies, but do what release do I run? when running a clutch for a 405 Mi16, do I run a standard 205 one or ....?

You use the release bearing to match the clutch arm on the gearbox - so for a 205 1.9 BE1 gearbox, you want a BE1 release bearing.

The clutch cover and friction plate is the same regardless of BE1 or BE3.
