Citroen Xantia 2L Turbo Into 205

Hey Guys,

 

As in the title. I have been offered a 2L turbo with all ancillaries from a 1999 Xantia. Just wanted to know if it is the same as the 406 motor??

Basically, yes, it will be an xu10j2te engine, but whether its the RGX or RGY (150hp or 145hp) i couldnt tell you. You would have to find the identification plate on the engine, but yes its basically the same as the 406 SRI.

Cheers for that, do you know if the Gentry auto box would go onto this engine. My old man is going to do the conversion but only has one arm!

I believe it would but not sure how long it would last?

Yes it will but it will go pop very quickly due to the torque, on std engines they don't like much over 115bhp and similar torque, There was a rating list of the box somewhere on here, You'd get better results keeping the std gentry engine thou and it's a dam site lighter too, que Mr Yorke
